busting a few myths about hypnosis
Hypnosis is not sleep
As Dr. Herbert Spiegel, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry explains
'On the scale of human awareness, hypnosis is the other end of coma with ordinary consciousness in the middle.
Trance is an intensely focused and concentrated ribbon of attention that screens out external stimuli
Hypnosis is not being in someone's power
Despite the scientific consensus that hypnosis has come of age, many people still see it in terms of an active expert controlling a passive subject
This idea of strong hypnotist vs weak subject dates back to Mesmer (hence 'mesmerise') in the 18th century, when hypnotism was strongly regarded as one of the devil's devices for gaining control of man's will. Infact Mesmer was charged with using his arts to seduce women. The notion of hypnotise as a dirty old man has lingered in the popular imagination.
The modern view, however is far removed from ancient ideologies. The hypnotist acts merely as a guide to the hypnootic state - the subject performing the actual 'work' of transition.
Experiments in hypnotism have demonstrated in many ways the power of suggestion. Once the resistance of the conscious mind has been removed and the subconscious mind can be reached directly, it will respond instantly to whatever suggestion is given it, if what is suggested is within the moral standards of the individual. When suggestions repugnant to the basic character of the person are made, he either refuses to respond or comes out of hypnosis. It would require a series of suggestions designed to alter the present moral concepts before the individual would be willing to perform any act against his fixed standard of conduct
Hypnotisability is not a sign of mental weakness
On the contrary, it is a mark of intellect and great ability to shut the external stimuli out, shift the doubtful logic to one side and allow the deepest form of concentration
what if i don't want to use hypnosis
I offer the same formula without the hypnotic trance. Instead, I use a very powerful combination of Yogic Breath and Meditation. This method enables waking access to your powerful subconscious, the highest states of human consciousness and allows the deepest release of limiting beliefs
1. How long does RTT take?
Each Rapid Transformational Therapy session lasts between 90 minutes to 2 hours. For that reason, we ask you block of a full 2 hours in your calendar to make sure you’re not rushed.
2. What does it feel like?
The experience feels different for different people. Some people feel a floating sensation, some do not. Others may feel sleepy, some do not. Most people feel relaxed and at ease. What’s most important is to know that how you feel isn’t an indicator of how effective it is. Regardless of what it feels like - it’s working. I promise.
3. Can I get “stuck” in hypnosis?
No! That’s an old wive’s tale. You have complete control the whole time. You can talk, move your body, get a tissue, even get up and leave (I’ve had clients who had to stop to pee before!). If our call gets disconnected you may drift into sleep if you’re really relaxed, but eventually you’ll notice that you’re not hearing my voice and open your eyes.
4. How does it work?
Hypnosis is not magic - it’s science! It works by creating a burst of brain waves that are the same as when you’re in REM. That’s what allows you to access the subconscious mind. It’s very easy and anyone can do it, you’ll see for yourself when you do it too!
5. What if I don’t “go deep” enough?
Don’t worry about how deep you go. I want you to forget all about that. It's really not important. The depth of trance is not linked to results at all. So don’t get stuck on “Am I deep enough?” Just tell yourself the truth - “This is working” and it will absolutely work. Just know that it is effective.
6. What if I think I already know the reasons behind my issue?
What makes RTT amazing is that even if you think you know the reason, you see it in a COMPLETELY new way. That’s what allows you to change the meaning and ultimately, change your beliefs. And for many clients they go back to scenes that are totally different than what they expected. Just relax and trust that your subconscious mind will show you exactly what you need to see.
7. What if I go back to scenes that are painful or scary?
If you go back to scenes from your life that are related to things like sexual or physical abuse, or other trauma, it’s important to remember that you are not reliving that scene, you are simply reviewing it and that you are safe. I will support you and create a safe space for you to express your emotions and heal - you’ll be OK.
8. When will I start to see changes?
There are 3 types of change from Rapid Transformational Therapy - every person is different: i. Immediate: You feel a massive shift right away - immediate changes in your physiology, thoughts and behaviors right in the session. ii. Incremental: You see consistent shifts every day, or over time. iii. Retroactive: You don’t see the shifts right away and then one day you suddenly look back and see all of the things that are different in your life.
9. What if I need or want another session?
RTT is designed to give you a powerful breakthrough and create big changes in your life. Some clients may need more than one RTT session on a particular issue, depending on how deep it is it can take up to 3.
Time doesn’t heal, intention does
A thought, from a long time ago, when left to it becomes stronger more ingrained by time, turns into a belief and ultimately develops into your world. It becomes the root of distortion in present life and it could be the cause behind why you are depressed, overweight, addicted, phobic, unable to speak in public or attract a relationship, money or know your purpose in life.
During the initial stages of training with Marisa Peer, I witnessed her treat clients for crippling social anxiety, intense sight issues and severe addictions. The roots that were brought up to the surface were the most unfamiliar events, thoughts and beliefs that the patient, on a conscious level, would not have sussed out by themselves. Watching somebody transform in body language and voice projection once the pain and block unravel was immense. Witnessing the light being turned on so instantly is pretty emotional and it proves how many individuals go through this life not knowing the hidden reason behind a stumbling block and why their life is compromised.
The technique is being talked about at the highest level and many doctors and psychiatrists are training in this method because of the rapid impact it has on their patients.
The Royal Society of Medicine invited Marisa Peer, the founder, to speak because they wanted to hear about her results. Two medical schools are doing clinical trials on her methods and the medical world is now studying and acknowledging the methods she has been practicing for 30 years. The therapy's credible and cost effective as issues are cured in a maximum of 3 sessions. It is more reliable than hypnosis, EFT or NLP, and 10X faster than traditional methods and differs and is totally away from the traditional talk therapy where you see a client for many years and never get anywhere.
Katrina came to me in absolute distress. Her thoughts were mainly on violence and death and there were time they took over to the point she couldn’t hold eye contact with me in fear that she would actually harm me energetically.
She had a rotten spiritual experience during which she was badly manipulated and raped. She was also immensely attached to a past lover. She has, since her RTT session lost 22 kilos and ex-perienced many other exceptional transformations within her perception
